Presentation

   This blog was created to show the riveted joints project and manufacturing progress. The riveted joints must withstand a traction force of 30 kN and must be made of recycled aluminum.
   This project is part of the Integrator Project-PI( "Projeto Integrador" in portuguese), created for the Centro Universitário SENAI CIMATEC fifth trimester students.  The subjects involved are:
  1. Machine Components I. with teacher Mauricio Oliveira
  2. Foundry's process, with teacher Marcelo Carvalho
  3. Techninical English, with teacher Kelly Barros
   The picture below shows the members of the team:

   A team named "ALUMINADO" was created, whose members are engineers in the project department. ALUMINADO was hired by a mining and metallurgical fictional company, whose goals are to reduce its railways maintenance costs and to recycle the scraps of aluminium from some of its sectors. To achieve this goal, the company will manufacture riveted joints made of molten recycled aluminium, whose specifications are:
  1. The riveted joints maximum length must be 50mm;
  2. The quantify, placemente and rivet diameter must be established by the team;
  3. The most appropriate foundry process must be established by the team;
  4. At leats two rivets must be submited with a Quality Review Report. The report must contain details of the dimensional and visual inspection, and macroscopic analysis;
  5. The riveted joint project and the projeect of the foundry of rivet must be submited acording to the date set on the work plan. Each one must have a calculation report, CAD 3D and mechanical drawing.
   This blog will be updated every week  by the team members with informations about the project.
