Casting and Burr

This week, the problems with the casting have continued and the team could only make the cast of the specimen and that was released on Wednesday, 25th. The alloy used in the casting has is composed of 98% of aluminum, as you cand read on the previous post. The model was left to cool to room temperature, so there was no change in its microstructure and consequently in its properties. Also, even though there was a riser, the team noticed that the shrinkage cavity was better seen on the pouring cup. The next day, the team removed the riser and the sprue, and deburred the specimen, so the traction test can be made.
